Nope, my Rebel 250 doesn't have the rhythmic thump or thunderous roar of a Harley, but I love it just the same. I have found it to be a reliable and economical means of getting around, and that cool "Easy Rider " look is a bonus. I have always preferred the laid back riding position of the choppers to the belly on the gas tank position of the "crotch rockets".

My 1986 Honda Rebel 250

My Rebel had an original equipment padded sissy bar when I bought it. One of the first accessories I added to my Rebel were a pair of Highway foot pegs. I find it very comfortable cruising with my arms stretched out and my feet up on the pegs. I soon bought a small " sport shield " to mount on my handlebars to keep " da bugz " out of the teeth. The last thing I added to the Rebel was a set of vinyl, leather look saddlebags. I purchased all of my Rebel accessories thru the J.C. Whitney catalog.

I find my Rebel 250 accelerates my 130 pound 5 foot 5 inch body around just great. The bike is very nimble and gets over 70 miles per gallon of gas.

I purchased my Rebel from Reynolds Sports Center In Gorham Maine back in 1987. It was a leftover 86 selling for a measley $1195. I have seen classified advertisements asking between $1,500 and $2,000 for classic Rebels today. It sure is nice when something you purchase actually appreciates in value.

I have no reservations about traveling long distances on my Rebel 250, I have cruised out to Lake George N.Y. to attend the Americade 98, 99 and the 2000 Motorcycle Meet.
